Manifesto
Every dollar gets a job. Your "left to budget" total reads $0.00 only when you've told every dollar where to go.
Savings goals that roll over month to month. Tires, vacation, emergency. All live alongside groceries in one ledger.
Transactions land in an inbox you assign to budget lines. Your bank password stays with your bank. Zero never sees it.
Your data is yours. Your bank connection is encrypted, every household stays private, and we don't sell or share a thing.
Open Zero in your phone's browser, save it to your home screen, and it opens like an app. Same full layout as desktop, no watered-down mobile view.
How it works
Step
Sign in to your bank through Plaid's secure window — the same network used by Venmo, Robinhood, and Wealthsimple. Zero never sees your password or card number.
Step
Drag your income onto the budget, plant zero-based numbers across categories. Sinking funds for the things that matter — vacations, tires, emergencies. Every dollar gets a job.

Step
Transactions land in an inbox. Drop each one onto a budget line. Build categorization rules later — or stay manual. Either way the line items reconcile in real time.

Frequently asked
Almost everything. Give every dollar a job, set sinking funds, track debts, invite your household, and export to CSV. Two things wait for a plan: auto-categorize rules, which come with either plan, and bank sync via Plaid, which is what the Premium plan adds. No card on file during the trial.
Bank sync, and what it feeds. Basic is the whole app entered your way, including auto-categorize rules, sinking funds, debt payoff, every report and household sharing. Premium adds bank sync via Plaid, so transactions land in your inbox on their own instead of you typing them in, and your net worth updates itself instead of you typing in balances.
Canadian customers are quoted and charged in Canadian dollars, everyone else in US dollars. The price on this page is the price that reaches your card, and every figure states its currency, so there is never a second number to work out.
Never. Plaid handles bank login on its own secure page. Zero never sees your password or card number.
Most major banks across Canada and the US. RBC, TD, Wealthsimple, Chase, Capital One, plus a long list of credit unions.
Six times a day, automatically. You can also tap Sync to pull fresh transactions on demand, with a short cooldown between manual syncs so a bank connection is never hammered.
Cancelling stops the billing and leaves your data alone. Deleting the account is a separate step, and it is scheduled rather than immediate: 30 days by default, or the end of the period you already paid for if you are the one paying, so you keep what you bought. There is always at least 24 hours, and you can call it off any time before it runs. When it does run, everything goes, including the connection to your bank.
Yes, on iPhone and Android. Open Zero in Safari or Chrome and tap "Add to Home Screen." It opens fullscreen like a regular app.
